How to Create a Google Document


1. Open IE on your netbook.
2. Login on Google Apps. Use your first name.last name. Password: student ID
3. Now you should be in your personal Google account, ready to create a Google Document.
4. Select Create from the top left corner.
5. Select Document.
6. Change "Untitled Document" to your new title for the document.
6. Notice that your work is saved periodically. If you finish and your work hasn't saved recently, be sure to save.
7. SHARE your work with Mrs. Rankin. carolyn.rankin@pvms.gapps.swcs.us (highlight, cut and paste my address to share time/effort)
8. If you are creating a document that will be used by your team mates, be sure to SHARE with each of them.


How to Create a Google Site (under construction)


1. Open IE on your netbook.

How to Insert an Image in your Google Doc


To insert an image in your Google Doc using the URL of the image:
Go to the web and locate an image or artifact you would might like to use in your interview or museum.
Double click on the image.
Double click on the image again.
Highlight and copy the URL for this image from the address bar.
In your other window with your Google Doc, select Insert.
A dialogue box labeled Insert Image will open.
Select URL and paste your image URL where indicated.
Your image should appear in the area below the URL
If this is the image you wanted, SELECT
If the image is large when it appears in your Google Doc, reduce the size by:
  • Click on the image.
  • From the bottom right corner, put your cursor in the square and move diagonally towards the opposite corner.
  • When the image is the size you need, stop the cursor movement.

Be sure to paste the URL under the image in your Google Doc so you will have it for your museum.

Insert an image as an upload:
When you are going to insert an image as an upload, you must find the image, right click and save to the netbook. More directions will follow.
